I am delighted that you are visiting our website, which we hope will give you a glimpse of who we are and what we are about. We hope that the church in this Benefice, and each of our buildings, will be of places of spiritual, intellectual and emotional refreshment. We are an inclusive church offering a warm welcome to everyone.
We are a diverse group of people at different stages in our Christian pilgrimage, called to celebrate God’s presence. Together, we are seeking to develop our spiritual life, and use our gifts and skills to support our communities, both within the church and outside it.
At the heart of our life is the belief that God is not remote and uncaring. Together we are discovering that Jesus Christ is not just a character from history, and that when we put Jesus at the centre of our lives the world, and our place within it, begins to make sense. We want to learn to live with respect for creation, to love God, to love and serve others, to seek justice, and resist evil.
We see ourselves as part of God’s family, and like all families whose members have diverse interests, we don’t always agree on everything - but we believe we can learn from each other, so that trusting each other, we can travel forward together on our shared Christian journey.
